IoTA (the Institute) is a membership organisation dedicated to promoting professionalism in transport.


Our members are able to find solutions when they need them, and or share, a common interest when they don’t – while enjoying recognised status as a member of a professional body.

Founded in 1944, the Institute retains its original objectives, which is to solely dedicate its purpose to that of career development in the practice of transport management.

It is through a membership, representing all modes of transport that, the Institute are able to continually offer management solutions in response to the day to day needs of the Transport Industry.

Our members are able to find solutions when they need them, and or share a common interest when they don’t – while enjoying recognised status as a member of a professional body.

We support and encourage efficient transport compliance and best practice.  We are committed to the growth and development of our members through sharing specialist knowledge and the provision and promotion of educational programmes.

By retaining retired members in addition to our active membership, we have successfully maintained a history of meeting the needs of our members by continually observing our aims and objectives.
