Diamond Wedding celebrations
It’s a rare event when Bill Boyer has to send his apologies for not attending a Leeds Centre meeting It happened this year however as Bill & his wife Joan (who also often attends meetings with Bill) were celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary.
Best wishes to Bill and Joan

Members of the Leeds Centre met for their Annual Dinner at the Gomersal Park Hotel on Wednesday 16th January 2008. We were honoured to be joined by our National Chairman,Terry Dobson and his wife Linda, who came down from Edinburgh especially for the evening.
The hotel has rarely let us down and the menu and the meal were of a particularly high standard.
Honorary Member Keith Bradley proposed a toast to the Institute noting that the evening and the atmosphere was what we should expect of the “Friendly Institute.” He also noted that following the Harrogate conference fifteen months ago it was good to know that the proceeds of the raffle (which he incidentally won) meant that a village in central Africa was now being sustained with clean water from a pump with a plaque stating that this pump was provided though a gift from IoTA. The influence therefore of IoTA and Leeds centre particularly now stretched beyond our own shores.
The National Chairman responded by thanking Keith for his toast and Leeds centre for their hospitality. He noted that the Institute was currently in excellent shape and moving ahead on several fronts. He commented that the Institute indeed was having greater influence internationally with more contact with both China-Hong Kong and Nigeria.
Following this Terry presented Mike Mosley with his Fellowship certificate (see photo). Mike has been a member since the early 70s and has held most posts on the Leeds centre committee. He is currently our centre treasurer an is also a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee. Congratulations Mike.
