IoTA Patron Scheme

The IoTA Patron Scheme has been introduced in order to accommodate Companies that wish to have a direct association with the Institute. Unlike other organisations, IoTA’s Rules do not allow Companies to become members with voting rights. These are reserved for individual Members holding corporate grades.

How it Works

Companies that become Patrons of the Institute will have the right to include the Institute logo on their stationery, website, emails, packaging and vehicles as they wish. This will be in a prescribed format, which will be provided on successful application as electronic media. Additionally decals for vehicles can be purchased from the Institute – while colours will be limited, it is envisaged that some flexibility will be allowed to avoid clashes with the Company’s existing livery.

The Benefits

Patrons will receive a Presentation Certificate each year that they maintain their Patron status for display in their offices.

Patrons will have free space on the Institute Website to advertise their services as well as the opportunity for reciprocal weblinks.

Patrons will get a free mention included in all publications produced by the Institute including the Journal and newsletters.

Patrons will be able to show their association with a professional Transport Institution.

Access to Industry professionals, networking events through local Centre involvement, and professional trainers through the Institute Consortium.

Who Can Join

The Scheme is open to any organisation, which includes at least one Member of Corporate Grade (Associate Member, Member or Fellow) within its management team.

Annual Costs

The following prices are effective for 2011. They cover a twelve month period ending on the expiry date of their original certificate. Renewal fees will be invoiced three months prior to expiry and must be paid 30 days prior to expiry.

Limited Liability Partnerships – where all partners of the LLP are also Members of IoTA (regardless of grade) the LLP may use the IoTA logo, in the prescribed format, free of charge, by including the IoTA membership numbers of all the Partners.

Sole Traders - where the business principle is a corporate Member of IoTA, the logo, in the prescribed format, may be used free of charge by including the membership number.

Partnerships – where all partners are corporate Members of IoTA, the logo, in the prescribed format, may be used free of charge by including the membership numbers of all Partners. In situations where only one Partner is a Member of IoTA, the costs will be in accordance with those set for Ltd Companies.

Limited Companies / Plcs:
For Companies with up to two employees – £85 per annum
Three to ten employees – £200 per annum
Over ten employees – £500 per annum

The prescribed formats for use of the logo are available from head office.

Please note that the nominal ‘Patron’ does not confer voting rights on the organisation. Neither does it infer any degree of accreditation of the Patron organisation by the Institute.

Where, by their acts or omissions, it is felt that association with the Patron is prejudicial to the Institute – e.g. if the Patron goes into liquidation – the Institute reserves the right to withdraw the certificate at any time. In these instances, all references to the Patron would be removed from the Institute’s documentation / advertising material.
