&lt;p&gt;Alan, a much respected transport consultant and&amp;nbsp;specialist in all things transport from road to rail, air and sea, wished to be beside his beloved railway he had supported as a shareholder since 1970s.

&lt;p&gt;Alan will be remembered and is much missed by the transport industry.
