our status grades and subscriptions
A registered friendly society with professional body status, IoTA manages to maintain independence by never losing sight of its original purpose to endeavour to always guide and educate the industry it represents, encompassing all forms of transport.
Its management teams are from the membership, elected by and responsible to its members.
IoTA is subsequently one of a few associations, where the Membership is as important to the Institute as is the organisation itself.
The status of grades awarded by IoTA to its membership can relate to an applicant’s actual qualifications but frequently reflect experience, achievements and responsibilities within the industry, where the member can then have the benefits of using the experienced management skills of his peers within IoTA.
A member’s grade is determined, assessed and awarded by the membership, which, once awarded, permits that member to use letters after their name as a sign of their commitment to the highest standards of professional integrity within the transport industry.
