The secretary of state for transport, Grant Shapps, has appointed Miles Dorrington as acting Traffic Commissioner following the retirement of Nick Denton on 31st May.
Senior Traffic Commissioner Richard Turfitt has deployed Miles Dorrington, who previously held the position of deputy Traffic Commissioner, to the West Midlands in the temporarily. The temporary appointment will end once a new Traffic Commissioner takes up the post permanently.
Nick Denton, previously Traffic Commissioner for the West Midlands until his retirement on 31 May will continue in a deputy role.
