Annual inspection waiver for MOT exempt vehicles

Authorisation number 947 about an annual inspection waiver for MOT exempt tank vehicles.

Authorisation notice allowing tank vehicles, which are in the scope of the Motor Vehicles (Tests) Regulations 1981 that do not require an annual roadworthiness test certificate, to remain in service on the roads of Great Britain without a valid ADR 1(C) certificate.

Unless otherwise revoked or superseded, this authorisation shall be valid for those tank vehicles which do not require an annual roadworthiness test certificate until such a time when the provisions are no longer relevant or if the vehicle is issued with a notice of refusal.

The affected tank vehicle types, as defined in section 9.1.1.2 of volume II of ADR, are:

  • EX
  • FL
  • AT
  • MEMU
