BATH & NORTH EAST SOMERSET Clean Air Zone - Operational

The Class C Clean Air Zone operates in the city centre 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, with a daily charge for non-compliant Coaches & Buses is £100, and for Minibuses £9.

BANES council received £9.4 million of funding from Government to help residents and businesses, including coach companies to replace or retrofit non-compliant vehicles.

The support scheme can provide interest free funding and grants of up to £35,000 to cover a CVRAS approved retrofit or a maximum of 35% of the net upgrade costs for a replacement vehicle.

Due to the pandemic the scheme has been amended so that businesses who failed with their initial application can re-apply for support.

A further £1.58 million has been provided for local bus operators to retrofit vehicles not already compliant in the zone
