Bus Service Improvement Plans and Enhanced Partnership Timescales

20 Jan 2022

Bus Service Improvement Plans and Enhanced Partnership Timescales

The DfT issue letter to Local Transport Authorities to set out the timescales for Bus Service Improvement Funding announcements and Enhanced Partnership plan submissions.

The letter explains that the Department will announce the indicative BSIP funding allocations in February and confirms that the budget available, which includes funding for Zero Emission Buses, totals around £1.4bn for the next three years, meaning that prioritisation will be necessary given that the ambition across the country exceeds the available funding.

Additionally, the Department has amended the timescale for Enhanced Partnership submissions. Draft Enhanced Partnership plans should now be submitted by the end of April 2022. Further information on the new submission date for full Enhanced Partnership plans will be provided after the funding allocation for Bus Service Improvement Plans has been announced.
