Carry out effective (HGV) Daily Walkaround Checks – New improved online guide

24 Sep 2019

What you need to check inside and outside of the vehicle when you do a lorry or other heavy goods vehicle (HGV) walkaround check.  A new video has been released to demonstrate what is required also.

The DVSA new walkaround check guide has been designed to make the walkaround check guidance easier to understand for both PSV and HGV Drivers.

In the last 5 years, the percentage of people accessing the guide using a mobile has almost tripled (12.5% to 32.9%), so we've designed the new guide with this mind.

If you’re a transport manager or vehicle operator, read guidance about how to make walkaround checks a part of your processed for keeping your vehicles safe to drive.

The guidance also more clearly reflects what Vehicle Examiners look for during roadside checks.
