Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and Government-backed Covid Loans extended

Chancellor announces that the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) and the various Government-backed COVID-19 loans will be extended once again to support businesses.

 

This latest announcement means that businesses now have until the end of April 2021 before the CJRS scheme ends and until the end of March 2021 to access funding via the loan scheme.

 

During his latest announcement, Rishi Sunak also confirmed that he would hold his next Budget on 3 March 2021, in which he will set out the next phase “to tackle the virus and protect jobs”.

 

The deadline for submission of claims for November was 14 December HMRC has said that if an employer did not submit their claim by this date, and there is a reasonable excuse for missing the deadline it may still be accepted.
