DVSA Annual Test Allowance for Irizar Integral Malfunction Indicator Lamps

6 Oct 2023

DVSA has implemented a procedure to its testing staff regarding Engine Malfunction Indicator Lamps (MIL) on some Irizar Integral vehicles.

The usual test procedure for the Engine MIL is that the lamp is observed to be illuminated when the ignition is switched on, then should extinguish when the engine is started. If the MIL does not extinguish, this indicates a malfunction in the emission control system.

It has been identified on some Irizar Integral vehicles that the MIL does not illuminate when the ignition is switched on.

To allow Irizar time to develop a software update to rectify the issue, DVSA testing staff have been instructed that affected vehicles should not be failed for this MIL lamp issue during annual tests. This instruction will be in place until 31st October 2024.

Other vehicle makes and models may suffer from a similar issue. Please contact CPT if this is the case
