DVSA Roadside Encounters Updated

16 Jun 2025

The tool used by DVSA roadside enforcement colleagues to record vehicle encounters is being updated.

What’s changing?

From 18 June 2025, if your Operator Licence has an email address recorded, you’ll receive prohibition notifications by email instead of by post.

The email will include all the information usually included in the letter. This update will make the process quicker, more efficient and environmentally friendly.

You will still be given a physical prohibition at the roadside and receive clearance notices by post.

What if I don’t have a recorded email address?

Operators without an email address recorded will continue receiving letters to their business address.

What’s next?

We’ll continue making improvements over the coming months and will let you know about anything new.
