Edinburgh considering city centre pay and display parking for coach buses

3 Apr 2026

Edinburgh council is considering plans to put dedicated coach pay-and-display parking in Edinburgh to keep buses from laying over on city centre streets.

Under proposals by officers, pay-and-display bays for buses would be introduced on King’s Stables Road and Regent Road.

It comes as part of a larger coach management plan being developed in Edinburgh, which seeks to address the ‘negative consequences’ of some coach bus activities.

Under the plans a maximum duration for parking will be in place at an hourly rate.
