Future of Transport: equalities research

27 Nov 2020

Research on the accessibility and inclusiveness of future transport technologies and services.

Transport is key to a connected society. As advances in technology continue and the demographics of UK society change, transport networks need to respond to these shifts. Such changes can bring many opportunities, but may also create new challenges and potentially worsen inequalities in society.

This research provides insight into the main areas of risk and opportunity that future transport technologies and services could present for:

  • people with characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010
  • people from different socio-economic backgrounds

This report is part of the Future of Transport programme, which aims to shape transport innovation and secure the UK’s position as a leader in the transport sector of the future.
