International Day Commemorating Air Crash Victims and their Families, 20 February 2024

20 Feb 2024

Today, 20 February 2024 is the International Day Commemorating Air Crash Victims and Their Families.

As we strive to fulfil our purpose of improving aviation safety by learning from accidents and serious incidents, those impacted by aircraft accidents are always at the forefront of our minds.

We seek to treat those involved in accidents with respect and sensitivity, drawing on industry best practice in family liaison.  Our investigations endeavour to provide information and answers to victims and their families, and by learning from these upsetting events we help the aviation industry to become safer.

Today the AAIB remembers all those affected by air accidents and we reflect on the dreadful impact these events can have.
