New Deputy Traffic Commissioners appointed

The Secretary of State has appointed five new Deputy Traffic Commissioners to support the Traffic Commissioners.

Mair Williams, Tehniat Watson, Kate Grimley Evans, Giles Pengelly and Rakesh Sharma come into the role with valuable legal experience.

Mair has a background in Criminal Law, Dispute Resolution and Investigations, and will be based in Cambridge. 

Tehniat is a Solicitor Advocate experienced in Public Law; Child Protection and Adoption and sits in Sports and Healthcare Regulation. Tehniat will be based in Eastbourne.  

Kate has a background in law, qualifying as a solicitor in 2004, and sits as a specialist member of the First Tier Tribunal (Information Rights) and on the Advisory Council on the National Records and Archives. Kate will be based in Cambridge. 

Giles has a background in criminal law and will be based in Birmingham. 

Rakesh is a Solicitor-Advocate with a background in crime, military and professional discipline. He currently sits as an Independent Member of the Parole Board for England and Wales and will be based in Cambridge. 

The Traffic Commissioners for Great Britain believe these appointments will strengthen the team of part time commissioners, providing them with invaluable support. They look forward to working with them.
