TfL lowers speed limits

4 Apr 2023

Transport for London (TfL) introduced 20mph speed limits to almost all roads within the boroughs of Camden, Islington, Hackney, Haringey and Tower Hamlets on 31st March 2023.

The introduction across 17.5 miles of roads is part of the mayor’s Vision Zero goal to eliminate death and serious injury from the transport network by 2041.

TfL is working to introduce further speed limit reductions in 37 town centre locations, in inner and outer London, and 88 miles of road by 2024.
