Transporting container valves used in fixed firefighting systems

Adds the construction and transport of container valves used for gas extinguishing firefighting systems to regulations (exception notice 29).

The exception notice updates dangerous goods regulations to include the construction and transportation of container valve assemblies used in fixed fire fighting equipment for gas extinguishing systems.

This exception notice will be withdrawn on 7 November 2025. You must make sure you comply with the applicable edition of standard ISO 17871.

The Department for Transport can issue exception notices to the dangerous goods regulations, which include the recognition of certain standards.
