HSE launch Working Minds Campaign

HSE launch Working Minds Campaign

Mental health is the number one reason for time off sick with 17.9 million working days lost last year as a result of stress. Anxiety, or depression.  Mental health is about how we think, feel and behave and is often a reaction to a life event.  What affects one person may not affect another.

Employers have a legal duty to protect employees from stress at work by undertaking a risk assessment, identifying any significant risks and taking steps to remove or reduce them.

As well as providing guidance tools, advice and additional contact details, the HSE’s Working Minds Campaign sets out five steps to put follow:

  • Reach out
  • Recognise
  • Respond
  • Reflect
  • Make it - Routine
