Trudy Harrison, MP for Copeland, Cumbria, becomes parliamentary under-secretary of state.
Previously Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, she is responsible for delivering the DfT’s future transport and decarbonisation policies
Trudy Harrison has responsibility for:
- future of transport (including future of freight)
- environment (including transport decarbonisation)
- transition period activity and future relations with the EU
- international, exports and inward investment
- secondary legislation
The change is a consequence of the PM’s cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday (15 September), during which it was confirmed that Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps would remain in post.
