New junior minister at Department for Transport

Trudy Harrison, MP for Copeland, Cumbria, becomes parliamentary under-secretary of state.   

 

Previously Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, she is responsible for delivering the DfT’s future transport and decarbonisation policies

Trudy Harrison has responsibility for:

  • future of transport (including future of freight)
  • environment (including transport decarbonisation)
  • transition period activity and future relations with the EU
  • international, exports and inward investment
  • space
  • secondary legislation

The change is a consequence of the PM’s cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday (15 September), during which it was confirmed that Secretary of State for Transport Grant Shapps would remain in post.
